St.Thomas is our Patron Saint who was one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. St Thomas arrived in India in AD 52 and founded the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Syrian Church. The Church is in communion with Oriental Orthodox Churches and in good ecumenical connection with the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches.

St Thomas Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church, Poole belongs to the Diocese of UK-Europe & Africa of the Malankara (Indian)Orthodox Syrian Church. Our parish had its inception as a congregation started with prayer fellowship in 2003 and first Holy Eucharist on 27 th September 2003. Our Parish was officially proclaimed as St. Thomas Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church, Poole in Jan 2007 and had been functioning as a registered charity in Dorset and Hampshire since June 2011.
